Futurex Announces SKI9000 Secure Key Injector

BULVERDE, Texas — July 19, 2010 — Futurex today announced the release of the SKI9000 Secure Key Injector. The SKI9000 includes a number of hardware-based security enhancements over the prior SKI Series encryption devices, along with integrated disaster recovery features, allowing the device to be implemented in an enterprise-level high availability environment.

Based on Futurex’s recently-released EXP9000 encryption card, the SKI9000 doubles the number of injection ports included in the base configuration to four, with a maximum configuration of sixteen ports. The SKI9000 is contained within a 2U chassis, which represents a rack footprint reduction from the 4U SKI5000.

The SKI9000 is the successor to the SKI3000, which was originally released in 2005. It supports direct key injection for most major terminal manufacturers including VeriFone, Hypercom, and Gemalto.

The SKI9000 has an integrated smart card reader for injection of smart card-capable terminals and secure key storage. An integrated CompactFlash reader allows for secure backups to be made behind the steel lock plate of the device, and the device also includes dual, hot-swappable power supplies for disaster recovery. The LCD information panel size has been doubled to four lines, allowing for system information and usage statistics to be displayed in greater detail.
