Futurex KMS9000-Based HyperSafe Remote Key System Wins Sesame Award

PARIS, France — November 16, 2009 — CARTES & IDentification 2009 — Global payment technology leader Hypercom announced that it has been awarded the Sesame Award at CARTES & IDentification 2009 for the Futurex KMS9000-based HyperSafe Remote Key System (HRKS).

The device represents a three year development effort by both Futurex and Hypercom and was released in January, 2009 as the industry’s first standards-based remote key injection product. It incorporates PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) to securely distribute symmetric encryption keys over a secured TCP/IP connection while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements, including X.509, FIPS 140-2 Level 3, and PCI DSS. The device also meets ANSI X9.24 and Visa PIN Security Guidelines for remote key management.
