Futurex Announces Hardware TLS Encryption Platform

BULVERDE, Texas — September 6, 2010 — Futurex today announced the release of the Kryptos TLS Server. Created in order to address the growing industry demand for protection of data in transit, the Kryptos TLS Server provides secure, hardware-based encryption of any data capable of being transmitted through a socket-based connection.

Network audits are requiring that cardholder data be encrypted throughout the entire payment transaction, and Transport Layer Security (TLS) is increasingly being implemented as a compliant solution. Organizations developing payment software are eager to implement a solution that will not require a redesign of the core functionality of their product and will allow continued compliance with security standards.

The Kryptos TLS Server was engineered to provide a seamless, GUI-based platform to address a wide-ranging variety of data encryption possibilities. The solution allows organizations to take an existing socket-based connection and tunnel it through an encrypted, hardware-based TLS connection via a Tamper-Resistant Security Module. All data is transmitted using the FIPS 140-2 Level 3-validated EXP9000 encryption card. No changes are required to the host software, and the device operates seamlessly within existing networks.

"The Kryptos TLS Server leverages Futurex’s innovative technology to provide a critical component for organizations looking to create a compliant data encryption solution," said Jim Lambert, Director of Engineering. "Our secure, hardware-based TLS encryption platform provides organizations with a wide variety of potential applications, including End-to-End Encryption for payment processing."
