Business Development Representative

Futurex is seeking Business Development Representatives for full-time employment at Futurex’s Engineering Campus in Bulverde, 15 miles north of San Antonio, Texas. The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying and engaging prospective customers and partners, as well as setting up meetings with prospects and heading outside engagement efforts.

What does the Business Development Representative Do?

The Business Development Representative plays a key role in developing prospective business opportunities for Futurex. They are responsible for identifying organizations with a potential use case for Futurex technology and opening a conversation with cyber security decision makers and introducing Futurex’s sales executives at the appropriate time. Business Development Representatives focus on individual customer sales as well as larger partnership opportunities.

The Business Development Representative will work with a variety of information and communication platforms including LinkedIn, social media, e-mail, and phone to find and engage with prospects. Rather than focusing on organizations who have already interacted with Futurex, the Business Development Representative’s goal is to identify new customers, including those in verticals outside Futurex’s core market, and engage with them.

We are looking for candidates who have excellent sales and communication skills. Ideal candidates are passionate about learning new skills and concepts and want to learn about cutting-edge technology and sales tactics. We also want someone who loves to work with other people and can effectively communicate with individuals from a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and enthusiastic about communicating with prospective clients via all mediums, especially by social media, email, and phone, even when “cold calling.”


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in engineering, information technology, or cyber security
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivation to set, meet, and surpass sales goals
  • Competitive spirit and high energy, willing to chase leads and not be easily discouraged
  • Comfortable “cold calling” multiple prospects a day via phone, email, and social media
  • Ability to establish and develop strong professional relationships
  • Create a positive, memorable first impression with prospective clients to build our sales base
  • Aptitude for quickly building an understanding of complex technical concepts


  • 2+ years sales and/or outbound calling experience
  • 1+ years data security experience
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity solutions and technology
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other common social media sites


  • Identify and reach out to prospective leads
  • Maintain detailed records of all outreach and activity
  • Respond quickly and informatively to interested prospects
  • Analyze conference attendees, organization lists, news, and social media for prospective leads
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of sophisticated technical concepts
  • Other duties as required
