Futurex Expands CryptoHub Integration Ecosystem with Veeam Ready Security Qualification

The qualification extends CryptoHub's enterprise application integration ecosystem with HSM-backed key management for supported Veeam backup workflows.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, October 27, 2026 – Futurex has earned Veeam Ready Security qualification for CryptoHub, qualifying its integration under the program’s Key Management System (KMS) compatibility category with Veeam Backup & Replication.

The qualification adds independently qualified KMS compatibility to CryptoHub's enterprise integration ecosystem, giving organizations another way to manage encryption keys through Futurex's HSM-backed cryptographic platform.

Veeam Backup & Replication helps organizations back up and recover data across virtual, physical, and cloud workloads. Its encryption capabilities protect backup data at rest, while integration with an external key management system allows organizations to maintain separate control over the keys used to protect their backups.

Bringing Enterprise Backup Operations into the CryptoHub Ecosystem

CryptoHub integrates with Veeam Backup & Replication through the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP), connecting Veeam's backup encryption workflows to centralized, HSM-backed key management.

Veeam generates symmetric keys to encrypt backup data, while CryptoHub manages the RSA key pairs used to protect those encryption keys. Private keys remain within the CryptoHub cryptographic boundary and are used during recovery operations.

For supported Veeam workloads, CryptoHub provides centralized key administration, policy-driven key rotation, KMIP audit visibility, and separation of responsibilities between backup administrators and cryptographic key management teams.

CryptoHub's Expanding Enterprise Integration Ecosystem

The Veeam qualification represents another addition to CryptoHub's broader enterprise integration ecosystem.

CryptoHub brings together hardware security module (HSM) services, enterprise key management, PKI and certificate authority services, and data protection capabilities within a unified cryptographic platform.

Through its supported application integrations, CryptoHub connects cryptographic services with enterprise databases, cloud environments, applications, and infrastructure. This approach allows organizations to extend centrally governed cryptographic capabilities to additional workloads while retaining their existing application investments.

The Veeam integration extends that approach to backup encryption key management. Organizations already using CryptoHub can evaluate another supported workload within their cryptographic infrastructure, while enterprises considering CryptoHub can assess how the platform connects with established backup applications.

This architecture gives organizations several operational capabilities:

  • Centralized key management: Manage RSA key pairs and their lifecycle through CryptoHub.
  • Policy-driven key rotation: Apply configured rotation policies. Veeam synchronizes updated key material every 24 hours, while CryptoHub retains historical private keys for previously encrypted backups.
  • Separation of duties: Maintain distinct administrative responsibilities for Veeam backup operations and CryptoHub cryptographic key management.
  • Audit visibility: Record key management activity through CryptoHub’s KMIP audit capabilities.

Veeam Ready Security Qualification and CryptoHub Integration Details

The qualification identifies both on-premises and SaaS deployment options. Veeam lists the base CryptoHub license as the minimum required license level. Its validation configuration also identifies certificate conversion to PKCS#1 format and certificate revocation list (CRL) distribution point setup.

The integration supports specified job-level and storage-level encryption workflows. For supported configurations, certificate requirements, and key recovery considerations, review the Veeam Ready Security qualification and the Futurex Veeam Backup & Replication integration guide.
