Futurex Named an NCSAM Cybersecurity Champion for 2017
This October marks the 14th anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). Developed in 2004 after Presidential proclamation, NCSAM is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The program has since been recognized by Congress, as well as federal, state, and local government organizations and leaders. Most members serving on the NCSA board come from top technology based companies, and Futurex has been a proud supporter of this initiative for many years.
Futurex has been given the chance to join in supporting this organization by being named a NCSAM Champion. Champions are dedicated companies, organizations, or individuals who believe in the importance of cyber security, and wish to aid in creating a safe, secure, and trusted internet.
If you or your organization would also like to join in and support NCSAM this October, there are a variety of ways to get involved:
- 1)Use the #cyberaware tag in social media posts
- 2)Visit https://staysafeonline.org/ to learn more about how you can protect yourself and your customers from data breaches.
- 3)Hold awareness events within your company or community to promote principles and best practices of cybersecurity
As a NCSAM Champion, we will be providing resources to assist individuals, families, and businesses in becoming more aware of online safety practices. Be sure to follow us on twitter at @Futurex, as well as visit our company blog at www.futurex.com/blog to see our posts and resources during NCSAM throughout October.
