Futurex Named a Data Privacy Day 2020 #PrivacyAware Champion

Futurex Named a Data Privacy Day 2020 #PrivacyAware Champion

As a part of Data Privacy Day, an annual event hosted on January 28th by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), Futurex was named a Data Privacy Day 2020 Champion. The NCSA hosts this annual event to create awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust. By becoming a #PrivacyAware Champion, Futurex will uphold the principle that all organizations share the responsibility of being conscientious stewards of personal information. According to the NCSA, Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the Data Protection Day celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the Jan. 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection. NCSA, the nation’s leading nonprofit, public-private partnership promoting cybersecurity and privacy education and awareness, leads the effort in North America.

As part of their larger campaign to promote owning your privacy, the NCSA recommends taking several steps at home, in the workplace, and in your community, such as protecting personal information that gets shared online, educating employees to keep their equipment defended against malware and online threats, and volunteering at local schools and community centers to share your knowledge on privacy issues.

Futurex is honored to be named a Data Privacy Day Champion, as it aligns with our commitment to data and privacy protection. For more information on about Data Privacy Day, visit staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-day.
